It was a small island but not too far and it was always covered mist and nobody can remembering seeing it. Edward remembered seeing Misty Island but a very long time ago and hoped that the mist probably lifted. But Salty said that it was a mystery and that there were strange engines that live on Misty Island and huff and puff in a very strange way but nobody ever saw them. Salty also said that there were smoke signals and an engine was once lost on Misty Island and he huffed and chuffed and hoped for help and puffed three puffs of smoke but no one saw them so the engine huffed again three times and someone saw the smoke signals as the mist lifted and the engine was saved.
